New to the Nest 2023 -2024

Ms. Calise 8th Grade Language Arts d

I am an Orlando native, through and through.  I graduated from Lake Howell High School and then went to the University of Central for my undergraduate and graduate degrees. For the past 8 years of my educational career, I worked at Winter Park High School. Over the years, I have taught 9th, 10th, and 12th grade ELA.  In regard to my life outside of school, my husband and I welcomed our first child into this world last year. We have a rottweiler named Brandy and she is our son’s best friend. I am excited to join the Audubon team and look forward to an exciting new chapter this year!

I grew up in Tallahassee, met my wife at Florida State University. We have three sons and two cats. I have a degree in Chemistry with an interdisciplinary minor in math and physics. Before my teaching career I was an environmental chemist and musician. I've taught science at Glenridge MS for the past 17 years. On the weekends you can find me noodling around on my guitar.

Hey Falcons, my name is Rachel Hernandez. I graduated from University High School and Southeastern University, where I played basketball all four years and received my Bachelor’s and Master’s in ESE. I am teaching Geometry and 6-8th grade Intensive Math this year. This is my 9th year of teaching. I spent my first eight years at Legacy Middle, teaching 6-8th grade math, including Algebra and Geometry, and coaching basketball. My husband and I have two beautiful children and a sweet, energetic Border Collie. The beach is our favorite spot. I am so excited to be joining the Third Floor and our wonderful Math Team! It’s going to be an amazing year!

I am a local girl, 5th generation born and raised in Maitland Florida. I graduated from Winter Park High School and Florida Southern College where I received a bachelor's degree in Marketing. I worked at my family's company, Tip Top Roofing Co., Inc. for over 20 years. I became a substitute teacher in 2021 and joined OCPS as a Program Assistant in 2022. I have an adorable and spunky Boston Terrier named Bojangles. I am very excited to be joining  the ESE team and look forward to a wonderful year together.

I am thrilled to be a Falcon this year! I am an Orlando native, attended all OCPS schools, and graduated from UCF with a bachelors degree in Exceptional Student Education. I am a double certified educator and before coming to teach at Audubon, I taught preschool and 1st grade. APS holds a special place in my heart as both of my daughters, Audrey (4th grade) and Estelle (1st grade), attend this excellent school. When I have free time, I enjoy spending it with my husband and daughters, reading a good book, or traveling to a new place. Teaching is a true passion of mine and I’m so excited to be joining the second grade team this year.

I will be the assistant teacher in your child's Pre-K class with Mrs. Carter. I have a degree in Elementary Education and was a Kindergarten Teacher many years ago, before having my 4 children. My husband, Scott and i have twin 11th graders, Brooke and Parker. I have two at Audubon - Jonas 8th grade and Katie 7th grade.
I love children and teaching. I am so excited to get the opportunity to work with your students alongside Mrs. Carter.
